Hello and welcome to drybonestruth. My blog about my life, interest, and faith. Also sometimes the art of writing itself.
(The name refers to Ezekiel 37.)
You see, as a millennial-ish young woman, I consider myself born involuntarily into a lot of craziness I didn’t cause but I have to deal with just the same, and anything I learn along the way I’d like to share, in the hopes that it’ll help someone else. That’s not to say I’m a victim of my culture, on the contrary I want to be an overcomer.
I also am a college student pursuing an ASL interpreting certification, so I blog about my experience learning a new, visual language and with the deaf culture in my classroom. (See the ASL and College categories and tags.)
I have recently gotten into anime, and I am always trying out new shows and movies, which I like to pull meanings and themes out of, so I review and discuss them. (See the Review and Entertainment and Anime tags and categories.
I love incorporating quotes and ideas from my favorite author, C. S. Lewis, into everything I possibly can, as well as other books I’ve read. So if you’re a book person, welcome aboard.
I also started working about my recovery from growing up in a somewhat abusive household and how that affected my life. Though it does not define it.
Occasionally, I write about work, though to be real, that’s probably the subject we all least want to read or write about, blogging should be a way to get outside your work zone, just like “Julie and Julia” put it.
As you can see, I have a crap ton of interests to keep me busy and my blog gets kind of diverse, but I love it, and I hope you will too.
I try to bring a fresh perspective to everything I write about, when I can. If you’ve ever wondered if there is absolute truth and if life has a point; and if it’s possible to live happily ever after like in all the best stories; then we have stuff to talk about. I consider myself deep, so prepare yourself if you check out my in depth, and life posts, but I think a little depth is a good thing.
Be forewarned, I answer my own tough questions by looking to the God I believe in with all my heart.
